Coastal Cleanup - September 21, 2002Santa Clara County Results Over
1,200 volunteers! Thanks to all the volunteers, and especially the site coordinators, that participated in this event! There were 22 sites countywide. Here are results from the cleanup sites: (as of 9/24/02)
San Francisquito Creek 72 volunteers; Approx. 3,200 lbs of trash, 150 lbs of recyclables a mannequin, BBQ grill, and lawn furniture
Stevens Creek at Hwy 85 17 volunteers; Approx. 2,410 lbs of trash, 500 lbs of recyclables and antique 55 gallon drum carrier
Stevens Creek Reservoir at Stevens Creek County Park 62 volunteers; Approx. 750 lbs of trash, 180 pounds of recyclables, and car parts, diapers, and pornographic magazines
Wildcat Creek near Fruitvale and Allendale 32 volunteers; Approx. 125 lbs of trash, 100 pounds of recyclables
Calabazas Creek 18 volunteers; Approx. 200 lbs of trash, 200 pounds of recyclables, and a vehicle suspension piece
