Coastal Cleanup - September 20, 2003Santa Clara County Results Over
1,100 volunteers! Thanks to all the volunteers, and especially the site coordinators, that participated in this event! There
were 24 sites countywide – here are the results: 1.
San Francisquito Creek 20
volunteers; approx. 200 lbs. of trash, 80 lbs. of recyclables. Unusual
item: tickets to the Chicago Symphony 2.
Permanente Creek at Rock Street bridge 48
volunteers; approx. 1,000 lbs. of trash, 200 lbs. of recyclables.
Unusual items: metal pieces from train tracks, diving slippers, half a
flash light w/batteries 3.
Calabazas Creek near U.S. 101 and Mission College Boulevard 25
volunteers; approx. 550 lbs.
of trash, 200 lbs. of recyclables. Unusual
item: 8ft. aluminum lighting fixture 4.
Saratoga Creek at Maywood Park 15
